The 2008 Alberni District Fall Fair is gearing up. Preparations are well under way to have another memorable fair for all to enjoy.
Some of the tried and true attractions will return, such as the popular Tractor Pulls thanks in part to the Alberni Tractor Club who do a fantastic job hosting this event.
2008 marks the 25th anniversary of Logger Sports at the fair. A lot of special events are planned around Sunday September 7th to mark this occasion.

By popular demand the Amazing Race will return again this year, after a successful inaugural run last year. Stay tuned for more details in our prize book.
If you didn’t see “Dance Heads” last year, they will be returning again for more fun for all, be sure to this fun event in Teen Zone (Stephen’s building).
Our Entertainment Director is busy planning an exciting line-up of entertainment for all the family.
Saturday September 5th the fair will host a matinee performance of Sharon & Bram for all the younger generation to enjoy at the Multi-plex. It is hoped everyone wanting to attend this show will take in the parade before attending then check out the fair immediately following the performance. Tickets go on sale soon for just $10.00 a ticket, and $1.00 refund will be given at the gate for all adults that attend if they bring their stubs.
The Time Benders return to our outdoor stage Friday and Saturday evening after a 3 year absence. If you recall this group has a high energy performance, with many costume changes, some of which are on stage while they are performing, tunes from the 40’s through to the 90’s.
If you have a talent for needlecraft, hobbies, have a special cooking recipe, can grow a mean potato or have been told you make a great bottle of wine or beer, please consider entering your product at this years fair. This year marks 150 Years for British Columbians, and to celebrate the fair will have a display of “150 Years of Agriculture”, this display will feature one of the oldest farms in the valley, the history of the fair and it’s agricultural roots, and our aboriginal heritage.
