Alberni District Fall Fair presents our “Virtual Fair”
As you know, due to COVID-19, the Alberni District Fall Fair has been forced to go in a new direction this year. Instead of our annual gathering at the fairgrounds, we will be hosting a Virtual Fair from September 10th to 13th, where we will be showcasing local businesses, sponsors, agriculture education, home arts competitions, entertainment, and 4-H. Our intent is to bring the community together over this weekend as we have always done, but in an online format. We are beta testing a new platform that allows us to host virtual events using Facebook Live and competitions. Through this platform businesses, community organizations, entertainers, and sponsors will have the opportunity to create Live Booths and interact with fair attendees over Facebook Live. Fair attendees will be able browse all these Live Booths from the virtual fair website. When an attendee clicks into a Live Booth, they will see the booth holder’s Facebook Livestream, a description of their endeavor, and any links to social media pages or websites the booth holder has provided.
Our annual raffle, this year with a $25,000. cash prize is well underway. Tickets are just $10.00 each with only 5000 tickets available. As well as a purchaser able to get tickets online from our website they are available at various local outlets and farm and craft markets. We are also going to hold “Drive By” sales Tuesday evenings and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of fair weekend until 11am on the Fair grounds. Times TBA. Drive on up Hollywood St onto the fair grounds and get your tickets. Draw is at 12PM on Sunday Sept. 13th.
For our sponsors this year, we will be offering promotion on the virtual fair website over the course of the fair weekend. This will be in the format of banner ads, direct links to your websites and boosted visibility of your live booth. The live booth can be a place where you can answer questions or discuss and highlight a aspect of your business. Banner ad space will be used for priority streaming of sponsors and exposure will be based on sponsorship level.
We are all looking forward to once again, bringing the community together over the annual Fall Fair weekend, but in a safe and healthy manner. We hope that you will join us again this year and and help us put on another great event!
